Frequently Asked QuestionsWhen can I resume normal activities? Most women can return to work (if it is not too strenuous) and social activities in about two weeks. You should avoid lifting or pushing anything heavy for three to four weeks after surgery as this may cause increased swelling or even bleeding. You should limit your exercise to stretching or walking for the first few weeks until your stamina returns. Will the incision scars fade?Every effort will be made to ensure your scars are as inconspicuous as possible. However, it is important to remember that the breast reduction scars are extensive and permanent. The incision lines often remain lumpy and red for months, then gradually become less obvious, sometimes eventually fading to thin white lines. Can I breast feed after a breast reduction?Breast feeding after undergoing reduction mammaplasty is possible, but may not always be successful. If you are planning on breast feeding in the future it is important you discuss this with Dr Cooper.ยป Click Here to go to the main Breast Reduction page. |
